Summary:
I’m going to be kind and to the point. Even though electrons are 100% recyclable, I’m not going to waste any here.
This movie was a 2 hour and 33 minute yawner. Or perhaps I’m becoming immune to expecting anything new, fun, exciting, adventurous, totally unexpected from this, the 6th installment of the Harry Potter line of movies. This one just hit me as a very long advertisement for a sequel. Kind of like Lord of the Rings part 2 of 3. Finally, after 5 episodes, Potter and company have passed puberty and are actually interested in dating. Will someone please applaud?
Once again, things are running amok at Hogwarts. The once bastion of security is being penetrated at will and why by now the scholarly professors at Hogwarts haven’t figured out that Draco Malfoy(Felton) is a two faced evil bastard in league with (he who’s name still can’t be spoken after 6 movies) I just do NOT understand. But then, it’s in the books and in the script. I guess that explains it.
So, finally, Harry has his first on screen kiss. The scene was about as poor as Potter’s taste in women! There’s really not a lot new in what’s going on at Hogwarts here and I kept wondering when the real movie was going to begin!
If you’re a die hard Harry Potter fan, then this is an obligatory must see. If you’re not, then take a nap – you’ll get more out of it. I would expect this movie to spike to the top of the charts on the release weekend and then drop pretty much like a rock. Let’s see how magic my crystal ball is.
I’m Don Rima, and that’s the way I saw it, From Where I Stand.
