Merry Christmas…uh, make that Happy Winter Solstice!

The winter solstice — which marks the beginning of winter and the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere — comes tonight at 12:30 am EST.

Once again, all the druids will gather in their covens or around their “henges” to celebrate the shortest day of the year…from where we get xmas…. And, I’m sure that SOMEWHERE some fat guy dressed in red is guzzling down a Coke and wondering how the heck all his female reindeer got male names.

The non-Christians in the world are ringing the registers and laughing at all the harried Christians as they run pellmell to buy that last present to stuff under some tree, wondering all the time why and how yet another pagan holiday became sanitized as a Christian one.

And, all the animals in the fields wonder how it is that people celebrate the birth of their Savior by chopping down and killing trees.

Happy Winter Solstice to all, and to all, a good night… :)
